Summary: I booked this hotel as an overnight stop before travelling onward by train to Seville. As a solo female traveller arriving on an evening flight into Málaga my priority was safety. This hotel ticked all the boxes. The train from the airport was inexpensive and easy to use. On arrival at Málaga María Zambrano station there is no need to go outside; the hotel is connected to the train station by a well signposted walkway. Even at night the train station felt bustling and safe. There is a supermarket in the train station concourse. The staff at the hotel were very kind. Check-in was fast and I made use of the gym which was open until 11pm. Unfortunately I missed the pool which closed at 9pm. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options for me following a high-protein diet. I particularly enjoyed the mackerel and the eggs station. The slide was good fun!

Summary: Great hotel in so many ways - a pretty and comfortable room with all you could wish for, great breakfast and a hotel with fun design and quirks. The only downside was that the bathroom was quite worn down and not 100% clean. Then the fact that the service in the restaurant at the pool and the restaurant in the hotel lobby was none existent. It was literally terrible. The guy in the pool bar acted as if he had no idea what he was doing and the guy in the hotel lobby bar doesn't seem to know how to be nice to costumers. These two restaurants/bars really brings down the overall experience of the hotel, especially since everything else was great.

Summary: It is accessible right from the train station. You can easily walk into the main central part of Málaga for shopping and restaurants and sightseeing. We really made an excellent choice. Exceptional staff, exceptional and very comfortable room. A small issue is that the AC is turned off at night during the time we were there. (May)

Summary: We stayed 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good location to restaurant’s and shopping mall just around the corner (and train station too). Direct train to airport journey time less than 15 minutes. Breakfast had a good selection of food choices. The highlight for us was the shower, you can choose different settings on the shower head. Would definitely recommend Barcelo.

Summary: We had a great stay at Barceló Malaga! We arrived 3 hours early and the staff were very accommodating and let us check in early - which was much appreciated after a very early flight. The hotel amenities are very good and it was very clean. The hotel is directly linked to the train station, which is perfect for travel. There is also a shopping centre next to the train station with a supermarket and a food court - and lots of restaurants close by. The main centre of Malaga is approximately a 20 minute walk along a very easy route. We had a lovely 3 night stay and would definitely recommend the hotel. The highlight was definitely the rooftop pool - a great place to relax after exploring. We would definitely recommend
